If your memory limits have already been set to values greater than the ones
above and you are able to run flight simulator with scenery disks, you do not
need to change the memory settings.
Tips on freeing up memory - get rid of all device drivers, even the mouse
driver if you have to to get at least 580K free memory. Alternatively, you
may wish to boot from a DOS floppy to leave the maximum amount of free
memory available. DOS 3.3 is more suited than DOS 4.0 due to its smaller
code size leaving more available memory.
Note to 386 users: If you have programs such as 386 MAX or QEMM, you can
load many drivers such as mouse drivers, cache's etc. into high memory
maximizing your total DOS memory. 286 users may be able to accomplish the
same memory freeing feat by using Quarterdecs QRAM.
Features:
The accompanying files enhance the scenery of the Albuquerque, NM area. All
airports are now properly placed, have proper lighting and have the correct
runway lengths. Albuquerque International has been faithfully reproduced
including the new $106,000,000 terminal, the Kirtland AFB hangers, and the
correct position for the control tower. An ILS approach system on runway
08 has been added at frequency 111.90. There are several F-14's on the Tarmac
near the US Navy Hanger.
Active scenery consists of the occasional arrival and departure of 767's.
The city has been enhanced with a highway system including bridges over the
upgraded Rio Grande. The Pyramid Plaza, Signetics, Intel, Hyatt, Coronado
Mall and several other buildings including the FAA's ABQ Center have been
added. Sandia Peak is now depicted east of the city. Intel and my house
are accurately reproduced in Rio Rancho on the Northwest side of town.
This is an upgrade of a previous upload. New features include a very realistic
look to the mountains, especially when sitting on runway 08 - this looks just
like it does in real. More buildings have been added including a realistic
rendition of the Holiday Inn Pyramid Plaza, Hospitals, Stadiums and more.
The famous Route 66 (Central Ave.) has been added as well as some enhancements
to the Rio Grande. A military jet has been added to the active scenery.
